Spring 2011 Update

My name is Rob Merola and I am the new President of the Beta Charge of Theta Delta Chi at Cornell University.  The Brothers at Thumpty hope that everyone is ready for classes to start again after an enjoyable winter break.  More importantly, we hope that everyone is as excited as we are that the best part of winter break is finally here: RUSH WEEK.  For all those interested in seeing what the Greek scene at Cornell is all about, a trip to Thumpty will show you that fraternity life can be even better than you expected.  With our rich history in music and diversity, along with a commitment to the constant improvement and expansion of Cornell’s social scene, Thumpty has carved out a corner for itself in the Greek community.

Thumpty Fall 2010 Update

It is shaping up to be an amazing semester here at Theta Delta Chi.  We have several concerts coming up including performances by Segway, the Macpodz, Black El & Durkin, and Alex B.  On Friday October 22, we will holding a philanthropy concert to raise money for Teach for America with the Ann-Arbour Michigan jamband the Macpodz.  Special thanks to our alumni at the [Spectemur Agendo Foundation] for making this event possible.  We suggest a donation of $1 – 3 at the door, but any additional contributions would be welcome. So come on over to dance to some great music, all for a good cause. It’s not just about the parties here at Thumpty.

Semester Update

I would like to thank all of the parents who came out for our 2010 Parents’ Weekend! It was a fun weekend for everyone. We were fortunate enough to have a gorgeous and sunny Saturday for the events we planned.  Check out some photos from the events here. Special thanks to brothers Chris Bello and Luke Ackerknecht for organizing the weekend.  Congratulations to all the winners of the Horton Scholarships that were given out this weekend by our generous alumni. These Horton Scholarships dole out $15,000 per year to undergraduate brothers seeking financial assistance. I hope to see all the parents back for next year’s Parent’s Weekend!
